barbaric humanoids

About

Barbaric humanoids are a blight upon the land and often attack travelers and towns both in search of wealth, raw materials, and food. It is important to remember, however, that these species are intelligent and, therefore, attacking them on sight might not be the wisest course of action. After all, some tribes have attained levels of civilization and civility that could make them welcome allies- or fearsome foes indeed.

One fine example of some of these barbaric humanoids becoming worthy allies would be the Greff, a band of gnolls that joined up with the Protectors to defeat the evil necromancer Sedric Blightning. Originally the Greff were working for Blightning himself but he mistreated them and so they decided to turn against him.

A second example are the native tribes of orcs and kobolds in Cragon the enjoy full citizenship in that central Lesherac kingdom.
