So we’ve done it. Defeated Blightning. Where’s my fanfare? Things aren’t exactly how I expected they would be. It seems people are either unaware how close things came to being really bad for everyone, or they’ve already forgotten what happened, or they were killed somewhere along the lines and now being dead they aren’t giving anyone a fanfare.
One of the shops here in town is offering us a 5% discount on supplies. I’d like to be thrilled about the discount but its not a very big discount and I’m pretty convinced that they mark up their prices by 25% every time an adventurer comes into town. It sure would be a shame if someone broke into their shop tonight and stole everything they had. These things happen nowadays though, you never can be too sure in this crazy uncertain world we live in.
Sure we’ve made a name for ourselves that will last forever or something, but where do I go from here? Delivering a sword from the weapon smith to the guard that lives on the outside of town seems a ‘tiny’ step down from saving the world from a deranged necromancer trying to tear at the very fabric of life itself and raise unspeakable horrors to walk these lands again. I think I need something a little more exciting as a warm down adventure then deliveries. Helping the lady at the inn with her rat problem was fun though. I still smile every time I think about how well the inn burned. I mean really, I didn’t know it would just explode like that. No more rats though, or inn for that matter. Some people just don’t know how to be thankful for a job completed.
