Tales of Tolgard
Elfin cats are a magical version of common house cats. These magical beasts are thought by some sages to have absorbed some of the magic and fickleness of their preferred companions the fey and especially dryads who, according to legend, taught them some of their magic in exchange for companionship and help defending their trees. Their fur holds bright and complex patterns never seen on their mundane cousins which helps them blend into areas of tall grass of heavy undergrowth. There is a pixie-like twinkle in their eyes and their hunger for mischief is legendary.
Elfin cats can defend themselves with physical attacks, but prefer to rely on their magical abilities for survival. Elfin cats have a limited form of detect thoughts that allows them to sense friendly or hostile intent from creatures within 10 feet. At will, an elfin cat can pass without trace. Twice a day they can cast reduce and tree shape on themselves. Once a day they can cast enlarge on themselves and trip on their foes. Tree shape only allows the elfin cat to take the form of a tree limb, not a whole tree.
