About

True dragons are winged, reptile-like creatures of ancient lineage. They are known and feared for their size, physical prowess, and magical abilities. The oldest dragons are among the most powerful creatures in the world.

As dragons age, they continue to increase in power and gain abilities that younger dragons do not have. Dragons also continue to grow as they age ranging from a few feet to well over 100 feet for ancient wyrms . Dragons have blindsense out to 60 feet. Additionally, they can see four times as well as a human in shadowy illumination and twice as far in normal light. Finally, they have darkvision out to 120 feet.

Though there are several varieties of true dragons, there is one trait that is common to them all: they covet treasure and amass huge hoards of coins and gems. The two basic types of true dragons are the metallic dragons and the chromatic dragons. Additional groups include planar dragons and gem dragons.

Whenever a dragon successfully mates with a human, the result is an half-dragon. Descendants with quite a bit less dragon heritage are still said to have dragonblood flowing through their veins.
