corythosaurus

About

Corythosaurus weighs in at 4 tons and measured roughly 35 feet from nose to tail. Like other hadrosaurs it has a toothless beak, the back of the jaws contained a dental battery composed of hundreds of small, interlocking teeth. These are used to crush and grind plant matter and are continually replaced as they wear away.

As with other lambeosaurs, the animal bears a tall, elaborate bony crest atop its skull, which contains elongated nasal passages. The nasal passages extended into the frill and allow it to act as a sounding device for this dinosaur.
