The tunnel is for official guild use. You could call us a problem resolution guild.
A couple weeks back we had, um, an unexpected guest within the tunnels- I assume one of our guild members was replaced. It was the body of our guild member but they were no longer there- they were changed. We had to vacate and we did not have time to resolve the issue.
We are prepared to pay you for your services. I don’t know the initiating party of the infiltration- certainly seemed to be tied to bringing back from the dead.

Xaxis took a look- the bodies appeared to be human.
These bodies appear to have been attacked viciously by some sort of slashing weapons or claws. Dressed like various professions- craftsman and civilian clothing.

Rising from each of the three corpses- look like humans but with diaphanous and faintly luminous.
They moaned, Join us!

Ramirez flew in to check the other corpses…
These bodies have been slain, covered in pus and disease.

Bursting from the pile
A grotesque humanoid creature with myriad lumps that move just under it’s skin
Resembles a corspse

It grabbed Ramirez and puked rats and pus on him…

Aeris got knocked down to negative- I saved her with a close wounds.
Xaxis rushed over to heal her- and did- but then got knocked out.
Aeris poured a potion in Xaxis mouth.
I used my lesser restoration scroll to restore the remainder of Aeri’s negative levels…

Simple accommodations- a couple of chairs, table- single individual behind a desk, set of stair heading upstairs.

A couple of months ago that we moved operations out in this direction- Enillos, Tydra, Xaveron, and Mizunah
Zag stones are up.
1 job – Copper Level – a local townswoman who is having problems with rats in the basement. Her husband is no longer around. She was able to throw a couple of silver our way.
Hasn’t heard of RARE having set up an office in the area.
Necromancers or undead in the area. But from travelers from the north- North Kesuna and in the northern parts of South Kosuna there have been some issues.
Not sure about a Nerull connection.
Perpetrators don’t last long enough for us to last- but, I don’t know, wasn’t really mentioned.
Guardians of the Green? No really, they stay away from the big cities- some of the smaller towns see more action from them.
Ramirez decided to do the rats in the basement solo since it was so under-leveled.
See someone who needs help or other adventuring types. Recruitment and attracting contracts.
Other job boards in town? We could knock out the missions and tell them where we came from?
This city is immense- wouldn’t even know what to look…

Lynette and Eris came and got Xaxis and I to assist…

Rest of the group returns in about an hour…

Ebon Eyes – lvl 1 – fully charged – 750 – 50 charges

Moved down the passage to an underground river…
Terrifying bat with a body as big as a horse. With leathery wings larger than a dragon. Shagged fur with patches of bony armor showing through here and there.

I saved Eris twice by killing her bat, then Eris saved Lynette by killing her bat.
Eris got grabbed again and the bat was flying away with her.
First damage the party took was from the party- Ramirez’s fumble hit Lynette (who was going batty at the thyme)
I cast fly to go up the tunnel where the bat flew off…
Made it to the purch- a bunch of bones with scrabs of clothing. Big enough for about 2 of the bats.
Nothing jumped out as having any intrinsic value.
Xaxis took a look- the bodies appeared to be human.

Divination:
Traveling along the road from Firefeather to Folly, what is a landmark we should look for in seeking the diamondheart?
The path is not marked by milestones but by tragedy if you look close enough.

On our first day out- scanning closely- about halfway through our first day- note what looks like some dried blood on some of the leaves- which we might have missed at a faster pace.
Followed the bloody leaves.
Broke through about 20 feet of woods. Followed the blood to a dead courier. A bundle next to him.
Moved up- and then, from the river…
Woody shrubs around us seem to jump to life- like living clusters of slashing branches…
Tried to figure out what they were- some sort of living twig creature, definitely a plant in nature- they are plants animated through the majestic-ness of nature. Don’t appear to be tough. Only effected by things that would affect a plant. Slashing and bashing are good.

Xaxis – Heal check- person died about a month ago.
Died from loss of blood from lots of cuts.
Checked the package.
Checked the courier- a shipping manifest for the – single weapon and an address for someone in Folly.
Eris opened the package- the Diamondheart.
I carry the sword.
I helped Xaxis dig a grave and bury the body…

This wasn’t that difficult to find- so, if the person who ordered it or the delivery service-
We paid 232 gold for the diamondheart info, 2,320 for the item

We headed back to Firefeather.
We headed west towards our settlement and Whisper.
A nice, leisurely 6 ½ day travel- arrived on Juke the 8th

Diamondheart – some of these relics are Weapons of Legacy
A profound moment in someone’s life or a grand event. That rare energy, that rare specialness rubs off on an item that already has a magical attunement. A life of it’s own, it’s own legacy. From an event in time… Some grand story occurred with its owner.
Typically it is possible for someone other than the original owner- if they can emulate that owner. Get into the lore of the item to relive it. To peruse that path- alignment with it. Once you rectify any issues- you can spend time with the weapon. You’ll learn these rituals that will release it’s ability. They are often times expensive but the benefits are worth it.
I would recommend if you are going down the route- get really good at discerning history. To discover what processes to align with it.
The weapon in it’s synchronization with you- you will see certain aspects of yourself altered in the process.

We’re heading north to Inferno…
3 day trip to inferno- no issues.
11th of Juke – arrive in Inferno. Evening.
A 3 day ride…
Check first thing tomorrow morning.
I recalled that the town in South Kesuna right across from Inferno was called: Valreni
6 gold each for the three day trip on the catamaran.
3 pp for all 5 out of group loot.
The person booking the trip doesn’t know the captain- but the ship is called: The Rosemary.
On dock 26.
It is a dual-hulled ship. Twin hulls. For efficient travel, simple sail. Ship is about 60 feet from end to end. Very basic, cramped crew quarters and storage hold.
He’s busy signing the paperwork with the dockmaster. Make yourself at home in the storage area.
He likes to keep to himself. Captain Grieving.
It’s just across the straight there- the water is rougher at the edge connecting to the ocean. Sea monsters are not normally a concern. It is the most exposed part to the currents- this ship isn’t really equipped to deal with stormy seas. It’s dual hulls and lightness- deals well with storms but might be nauseous. Should make the trip in 3 days.
Here’s the captain now- make your way inside. Plenty of time to meet him once we’re at sea. As were going into the hold- the guy yells, captain on ship!

Please stay out of the way of our crew! If you distract any of my men. We checked the charts- shouldn’t see too much in the way of problems- never can tell with these freak storms that pop up. They do cause a bit of a system. In the event of a storm stay below deck and secure yourself below and tie yourself to the hull. Otherwise you’ll be bouncing around like an apple in barrel…

2nd day – rolled a 98 and a 01 on the same day.
And shit got real…
All of us, save Xaxis, were chillin’ on the deck when the ship was attacked by a giant octopus!
Yells- everyone get below deck- I’ll try to get out of it’s grip…
The captain stabbed it to death, saving us.

Ship pulled in at sunset at Valreni on the third day. 14th of Juke.
Lynette said, If I ever die- I want you to bring my stuff to the temple.
Looking for the Zegaran Adventurers Guild branch office…
Rameiraz found that the Wheelwright District where we can find the Zegaran Adv. Guild in one of the buildings along the main road.
Head out that way- found a small, run-down building with the sign out front. It’s locked.
Passed a cozy little inn- let’s go back to that.

The Star Shard
A platinum holy symbol. Not tied to a specific deity. It resembles an alien-like rock. It is always warm to the touch. Will keep its wearer warm in the coldest surroundings.
Tied to a brother Grafaris in the town Tydra. Simple cleric – ran a small congression – into the later parts of his life. Found a gem mine
sudden source of wealth. News spread so did interest grow in taking them from the town by force. Incoming invaders were coming- town folk flocked to the brother. He said he would do what he could.
It doesn’t look like platinum- but it is made of/counts as platinum.

I checked my maps of Keshiki for the town of Tydra…

A couple of courier groups around here- the need for communication. Hit up the Professionals District. Seek out- the most well established – Whisper Couriers. Started when the city was first founded.

The stuff is here that we instructed them to deliver. Ramirez wondered around looking at everything.
Cuthwin is at the top- relatively surprised to see us come from inside the keep.
Cowen is overlooking security at the town.

That inner sanctum is in another part of the plane…
We headed down to meet with Coleman.
Pretty good- we got the inn up and running. Made some progress cutting down some of the wood.
Established a hunting lodge on the end of the woods. A little bit of a trading post to sell their furs and whatnot.
Moving to phase 2- stockpiling the lumber for future buildings. No instructions on what else to build.
Occasionally people come through and spend the night.

Lynette shared the plan- reduce their rate, provide them some land, and give them permission to charge reasonable taxes. Provide them the rights to make decisions on
We’re going to jump start our coffers with 500gp – charge taxes to refresh that. When it hits equilibrium.
The contract with the first set of workers ran out- they’ve already returned to Whisper. We’re gonna send one of us to re-contract them with something long term. We’re playing the lumberers a daily wage plus a bonus per tree. The hunters are just doing their own thing.
Stone in the area? Probably do so in the hill by the keep.
Ferrier/blacksmith seems like a good addition.

Silver Level Job – The New Residents – We’ve heard reports near the coast at the bottom of the cliffs- a new group of lizardfolk have shown up and are causing problems for the ships coming to a from [Firefeather]. We would like them to be neutralized.

Attacks by a scouting group- not sure the extent of the threat. At least deal with the scouting group.

It came from the west, not from a ship.
I believe from the paperwork that it had originated in Inferno…

Back in 15 minutes- pretty old- back slightly towards Whisper a couple of hours- a path off (last reported use was about 10 years ago) – unscrolled a map to point it out. An hour or so back and look for a path.

On the edge of the city is a very large elevator/crane kind of thing.
We took the elevator down.
Made it down alive!

Pretty busy port. Not as big as Inferno.
Asking after the dockmaster- got directions to him.

On the far end of the docks- where the beach comes up. Some lizard people have been attacking.
Got to the edge of the dock where the beach meets up. A bunch of busted boxes- blood in the sand.
I attempted to follow the tracks.
Ramirez said a word and his armor appeared.
Leads to a cave.
Xaxis cast light on his shield before I could mention Ebon Eyes. Ah, well…
An arrow flew out and hit her. Or might have for a lesser warrior…

Caves go about 40-50 feet in. Camp fire in there and various bloody clothing, some various broken and scavenged goods, and that’s it.
Search the cave.
Copper, silver, and gold coins- equal out to 150 gp. A fire opal.
Each has a long spear and a long bow.

Various arrows to Lynette.
Talked to the dockmaster about it.
We’ll send some people out there as soon as we can spare the hands.

Scattered ruing surrounded by dense forest. Only one building that’s remotely standing. A single door.
There is no door. Light gets through due to damage of the walls and roof. Rough, damaged stone floor.
Got everyone Eboned up and we headed down the steps…

Roughly hewn chamber. 9 Terracata warriors once existed here but only 3 remain. Then they attacked!

parting of ways

It has been awhile sense I wrote anything. Raiders of the Forsaken Dragon are an interesting group. A little too reserved for my taste but solid when push comes to shove. I have been thinking awhile now that its time to depart. They are setting up a settlement and that’s just what this world needs… more crap in the way of the natural order.

Anyways I need to head off. I left them a note with some of the stuff I had been carrying. I am sure they will become huge legends or die trying..my bets on die trying but you never know.

Im off to find the Guardians and devote my time to their cause. I hope that whomever replaces me isn’t a complete tool.

Maybe or paths will cross again in time.

I hope they don’t trust that Azana .. to much is off about her. The treasure spends well and will get me to where I am going. I just have some issues with the whole situation. that much money comes from somewhere and if they are hiding that trail this good they are up to something.

Diamondheart – moving from collector to collector. Last know location of it was some documentation over in firefeather- shipping north to Folly. Propabley want to determine what happened out of Firefeather. Not through a company- through individuals. I do have a contact in Firefeather which is where I got the manifest. The guy- Raollin- city clerks in Firefeather. It had come through there. A month or two ago. His correspondence was brief.

(Gareth’s secret info on Azana – no mention on our continent until 4 to 4 ½ months ago. The Firefeather folks – her arrival at the port 4 ½ months ago. The church was formed a couple of weeks later and registered in Whisper. Wherever the wealth is coming from is elsewhere. Looked like it came from Amawa.)

You all have done well- enjoy the spoils of your efforts. I may have a final- well, not final- but the last of my current searches. I will need to meditate on this for a couple of days.
There are three of them- you have one, you will be in possession of the second one shortly, and the third I will locate.

Things seem to be good at the keep.

Flew in- and then…
The statue splits revealing a horrible maw of teeth. It tried to bite me!
Arcane Knowledge – 30 – heard of stone like creatures such as gargoyles, nothing I’ve ever seen or heard of would have the statues.
Flew past a second one and then Garreth punched on- and got stuck. Then stuck to a second one.
Then a third one got stuck to Gerreth- Lynette

Searched the pedestal- made of the same material as the hallway, smooth to the touch, nothing else abnormal.

Finally got it tipped over and it shattered.
Finally detected some magic on the back wall. Got focused on it. Eventually we had Lynette put her holy symbol for her junior deity against it, and…
The wall slides back slightly and to the side, revealing a corridor.

Dragonlike creatures- lupine features. Jaw is elongated but its wings seems stunted.

There hasn’t been a huge reason to map much out there. A couple of miles in any direction is where the farms drop off. I suspect there are some hunting paths out that way.
It’s mostly forest all the way to the coast to the west.
Paid 5 pp to get overlays of the hunting trail of existing map and gather information on unusual sittings.

Fate 1st- cartographers to the mega map with notes.
I was able to come up with a really good map and I’ve designated some possible candidates where you were looking. If you follow these hunting trails you should be able to get there with no problems. I’ve designated locations where there are little camps which might be good contact places.
No reports of anything odd.
Once you clear the first couple of miles- it’s not odd but I would definitely expect more wild animals. Some of our hunters do seek them out. I’ve designated the areas with more areas with more dangerous game.
Parrish Game Map
We got a machete and headed out.

Made it to the edge of the farmlands. About to enter the dense woods.
Xaxis dropped of his horse at the closest farm- 2 weeks – 300 sp (s pp)
Headed through the dense woods- about thyme to find a place to stay. Found a hunter camp site. A couple of hunters there.
We managed to catch some of the smaller game- cooking.

Uneventful day 1. Found another hunting camp. This one is unoccupied. We stayed there the night.
Uneventful day 2. We did find an entrance to a cave. Decided to camp nearby- 30 minutes away- and setting up watches.

Echoing and running water is heard.

Across the river slowly- 2 more slimes at the other side.
They kept playing around with a slime while some of us headed down the tunnel.
Highly polished oak door. Different looking stone around them. Beautiful brass fitting. Brass knocker- scimitar against a brass scroll.

I flew back since Lynette had yelled.
Then we all got to the room with the door. Garreth moved up and knocked the knocker.
Loud, sharp reverberation. The heavy oak door opens onto an octagonal area with 20’ ceiling. Ornate chandelier. Pedestal with a brass bowl. Holds about a gallon of water. Three arches around the portals- swirling mist.

Small octagonal room. Contents of bowl and portals all shine.
Flew up to the bowl. Intricately carved designs on the outside.
Kn arcana on the portal in front of me – 21 – Magical in nature and to appear to have at least two different effects in effect. It look like whatever magic that applies to them is two different effects.
Golden light streams from the mist- sturdy men with long black mustaches.
Steely eyed woman. Shimmering yellow turbans. Overcoats with geometric symbols. Ornate scimitars.
A fourth figure comes through the portal.
“You’ve invaded our sanctuary- our sacred resting place. Leave immediately or we will destroy you.
Bronzed people standing really close to the party.
Kn planes – 26 – Janni – the weakest of the jinni- formed of the four elements and therefore must spend most of their time on the material plane.
Typically prefer dessert or oases for their privacy.
I apologized and flew back out.
Eris also apologized and withdrew from their chamber as well.

One said to another- perhaps we should have written the warning in the common tongue…
Garreth asked, “Have you seen a guy with an amulet?”
We’ve not been disturbed for many of your years. I do not know who resides here. We helped build it and were promised we would not be disturbed.
Xaxis asked, “Who did you build it for? After you answer I will leave.”
She said: I do not remember his name or his purpose- but our payment was sound and that’s all I care about
